TWC developed a community profile report for Fort McKay First Nation to inform impact assessment planning related to the Suncor Base Mine Extension Project. The work brought together secondary data and community based research, to inform a lived experience overview of socio-economic and health conditions for the community, including traditional economic activities and community perspectives on oil sands development.
Working with Fort McKay First Nation, the team designed a defensible methodology, conducted a community-based research program, and provided senior technical review and quality assurance, ensuring a clear and balanced report that was responsive to both regulatory requirements and Fort McKay First Nation priorities. Through community informed socio-cultural analysis and engagement with community members and leadership, the report project helped inform impact assessment considerations, support meaningful participation, and supports protection of Fort McKay First Nation rights with respect to development in the region.

Work with us
We aim to attract great people and to pull together the very best project teams on behalf of clients and communities. We search for those with deep technical expertise and a quality orientation, who lead with something more than their professional skills. It matters to us that TWC team members are both skilled and kind. We want our team and new hires to sense there’s something special happening here, and to feel: I’m a part of it.
