Reciprocity Program

At TWC, our work is grounded in four core values: trust, reciprocity, integrity, and respect. The Reciprocity Program reflects our commitment to reciprocity and is one of the ways we give back to First Nations, Inuit, and Métis governments and organizations—alongside our annual donations and other giving initiatives.

About the Program

The Reciprocity Program reflects TWC’s commitment to doing work in a good way—supporting First Nations, Inuit, and Métis governments and organizations with short-term, no-cost advisory services tailored to their priorities.

The program offers up to 15 hours of strategic advice or technical support for initiatives that Nations have identified as important but may not otherwise have the capacity to pursue. The services we provide are culturally relevant and technically sound.

Program Focus

Our team provides services across all of TWC’s core areas. Below are examples of how First Nations, Inuit, and Métis governments and organizations may access support through the Reciprocity Program.

These services are well-suited to the 15-hour format, but they do not represent the full range of what may be possible through the program:

  • Grant writing and funding applications
  • Proposal and bid evaluations
  • Regulatory document review
  • Indigenous-led impact assessment and regulatory advice
  • Strategic and land use planning advice
  • Development of environmental and skills training materials
  • Project correspondence and response support

TWC’s team brings deep cross-sector experience, cultural insight, and technical excellence to every engagement—supporting informed decision-making and longterm outcomes.

Applications are reviewed based on alignment with TWC’s service areas, the availability of the right team members, and the number of active Reciprocity projects at the time. Priority is generally given to applicants who have not yet participated in the program to help ensure broad access.

While the program typically supports one active project per applicant, additional applications may be considered depending on capacity and the nature of the requests.

TWC adheres to strict confidentiality protocols. All strategic advisory services, funding information, and names of individuals remain confidential unless otherwise agreed upon.

We also uphold the principles of Indigenous data sovereignty, ensuring that any information shared by a First Nation, Inuit, or Métis government or organization is handled ethically, respectfully, and in full collaboration with those involved.
